Day 1 / Hello Lake Maggiore
Arrival at Milan airport and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax. Welcome dinner and overnight.
Day 2 / Cruise Lake Maggiore and discover the Borromean Islands
Breakfast. Full day to enjoy the beauty of Italy’s second largest lake and one of the most scenic. Don't forget your camera today as you will discover the wonders of the three Borromean Islands: Isola Madre, Isola Bella e Isola dei Pescatori. Lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight.
Day 3 / Romance in Verona
Breakfast. Travel this morning to romantic Verona. Arrival and lunch. In the afternoon meet your local guide for a guided tour of Verona, commonly known as the setting for Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. The rich history of the city extends back to Roman times. Still enclosed by ancient walls, Verona conserves an atmosphere that evokes a past of medieval and Renaissance splendour. The main monuments you will visit are: Duomo, Piazza delle Erbe with the famous high tower, Torre dei Lamberti, Piazza Bra dominated by the enormous Arena and the house of Juliet, with its famous balcony. Day 4 / Discover Sirmione, the Pearl of Lake Garda
Breakfast. Today discover Sirmione, "Pearl of Lake Garda", with an English speaking guide. This town is built on a peninsula that projects into the Lake and is famed for its medieval beauty as well as its breathtaking natural surroundings. After the visit enjoy a boat tour around its peninsula. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Verona and the remainder of the day is yours to relax. Overnight.
Day 5 / Explore ancient Bergamo en route to Lake Como
Breakfast. Travel this morning to Bergamo. This eastern Lombard city offers a wealth of art and medieval Renaissance and baroque architecture and is situated in a privileged position overlooking the southern plains with breathtaking views. The city's defining feature is a double identity. A funicular connects the largely modern Lower Town (Città Bassa) to the ancient hilltop Upper Town (Città Alta), which is a tangle of tiny medieval streets, embraced by 5km of Venetian walls. Meet your local guide for a private walking tour. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon travel to Como. Overnight.
Day 6 / Cruise Lake Como
Breakfast. Board the boat at the city centre and then sit back and relax on a cruise around the breathtaking lake. Admire the splendid lakeside villas and keep an eye out for Villa d'Este at Cernobbio, a luxurious hotel with tropical gardens. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon meet your local guide for a private walking tour of Como, with its 12th-century city walls, the beautiful people of this prosperous city whisk about from shop to cafe, sweeping by the grandeur of the city's cathedral, villas and the loveliness of its lakeshore with admirable insouciance. Overnight.
Day 7 / Milan’s magnificent Duomo and la Scala Opera House
Breakfast. Full day excursion to Milan. Meet your local guide for a morning walking tour of Milan, discovering its history and some of the world’s greatest art, including the magnificent Duomo and enjoying a tour at the Teatro alla Scala, taking you on to the celebrated La Scala stage, uncovering the hidden gems of La Scala. Visit the Theatre Museum and find out about the treasures contained within the halls of the Museum and the Livia Simoni Library. The afternoon is yours to explore more of this magnificent city. Return to Como. Farewell dinner and overnight.
