Day 1 / Welcome to Pisa

Arrival. In the afternoon meet your local guide for a visit to the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower. Overnight.

Day 2 / Medieval architecture in Pisa and imposing Renaissance walls in Lucca

Breakfast. Today enjoy an excursion to Lucca, hidden behind imposing Renaissance walls. Meet your local guide and stroll its cobbled streets, handsome piazzas and shady promenades. Lunch in a local restaurant. The remainder of the day is yours to take in the atmosphere of this elegant town or to return to Pisa, with its vibrant centre and lively street life. Overnight.

Day 3 / Volterra, queen of the Etruscan sites

Breakfast. En route to your next destination, visit the Etruscan settlement of Volterra. Meet your local guide for a walking tour of this little charming gem. Admire part of the majestic protective walls built during the 5th to 4th centuries BC, the well-preserved gates Porta dell'Arco and Porta Diana, the Acropolis that houses several buildings and the foundations of two ancient temples, as well as many Roman remains like the Roman Theather, dating back to the end of the first century AC. Typical Tuscan lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon brief stop in Monteriggioni, charming and delightful 13th century borgo and then on to Siena. Overnight.

Day 4 / Outstanding medieval Siena

Breakfast. This morning meet your local guide for a private guided walking tour of this town rich in history, art and popular traditions. Possibly the best preserved medieval city in Italy, Siena is built on three hills and full of winding alleyways, enclosed within the circle of its massive walls. Remainder of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the unique medieval atmosphere. Dinner and overnight.
